Long expected strict regulations on recreational and commercial speckled trout fishing are finally about to become law in North Carolina.
Beginning Nov 14 stern new rules take effect which restrict recs to 4 speckled trout at 14 inches, cap the daily commercial fisherman’s trip at 75 fish per operation, and prohibit the use of gill nets in all state saltwater and brackish inshore waters on the weekends.
